When Dr Elliot and the team at Onderstepoort Bird and Exotic Animal Hospital sent out an urgent plea for assistance, we were more than happy to respond.
A much needed water cooler for the vet team who work tirelessly in shifts in 39 deg celsius, wearing latex gloves and plastic overalls for the safety of the vulnerable chicks was donated .Soft toys, paper cups and balls and towels and newspapers as well as 150 hard boiled eggs were donated ad delivered .
A daily drop off over a 2 week period of 40 hard boiled eggs was also delivered to World of Birds in Hout Bay for the flamingo chicks in their care. Small hand towels were also donated
