Solar air conditioner for Pangolins
Umoya Khulula Wildlife centre were asking for help because their pangolins needing treatment were overheating.
Pangolins dig down to avoid the heat and this cant happen when they are captive and undergoing veterinary treatment.
South Africa has problems with frequent power cuts called ‘load shedding’ so Umoya Khulula wanted to put in solar powered panels. BRBR decided a raffle would be a good way to raise funds and with great prizes donated by our members we managed to raise £1000 to donate towards this cause. We also had a contribution from African Pewter which all helped and the solar panels and air conditioning was installed and our pangolins are now lovely and cool!
