In May this year we put our SANparks k9 veterinary fund to good use after Scent one of the k-9 units long serving sniffer dogs, ruptured the cruciate ligament in her knee. We were able to pay for her to have specialist surgery with one of South Africa’s top orthopaedic specialists Dr Greg Irvine-Smith of Bryanston Veterinary Hospital. As well as offering us a very substantial discount for her treatment, BHV also hospitalised her for her rehabilitation free of charge. A massive thank you to them and Ramsey Rehabilitation for all their hard work and dedication. Scent has done very well and may even be able to return to work in the park!
